Choosing The Right Driving Instructor

Recent studies have shown that over 90% of drivers who passed their practical and theory test at the first time of asking were taught be a qualified driving instructor.

If a driving instructor is charging you for lessons they must be registered with the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) and be a registered approved driving instructor (ADI). An ADI identification certificate must be displayed on the windscreen of the car you are driving.

It goes without saying that all Class Manouveur driving instructors are registered with the DSA and will display an up to date ADI certificate in the front windscreen of any vehicle used for your lesson.

When choosing an instructor you may wish to consider someone:

• who has a recognised qualification
• belongs to a recognised professional Association
• has a good reputation
• is reliable and punctual
• has a car that suits you
• can offer lessons at a time that’s convenient for you
• has a good pass rate

More Than Driving

Your instructor should be able to help you with all aspects of driving and be flexible to your individual needs . They should ensure you are fully prepared for both the practical and theory test and be prepared to book these tests on your behalf if necessary.

Your instructor should keep a clear and precise record of your achievements, advise you on what books you need to read, give you mock practical and theory tests and tell you when you are ready for your test.
