Driving Lessons for International Drivers

If you are a driver from the European Union or the European Economic Area then you are fully licenced to drive in the UK, providing you have a full driving licence in your home country.

Non UK licenced drivers from other countries are allowed to drive in the UK for up to 12 months. After 12 months you will need to exchange your licence for a UK licence and many non-EU members may also have to take a UK driving test.

If you do not have a licence in your home country, you will be treated as a new driver so you will have to pass the necessary tests. Please see our section for New Drivers.

It can be very different driving in Britain as we have our own rules and regulations, different road signs and of course; we drive on the left. We often have heavily congested traffic with lots of junctions and roundabouts.
